Sun Valley, a neighborhood in Los Angeles in the San Fernando Valley, beckons with its majestic mountains and wide selection of activities which can be enjoyed under sunshine 80 percent of the year. The ski and snowboard season is from Thanksgiving Day through mid-April, and there are outdoor and indoor ice skating rinks.

Bald Mountain, affectionately known as “Baldy,” has a summit elevation of 9,150 feet with no plateaus, no flats, is all downhill, has slalom challenges, and has runs ranging from beginner to expert. Dollar Mountain has a summit elevation of 6,638 feet and had the first chairlift in the world. It now boasts 76 rails, five lifts, vertical of 628 feet along with beginner-friendly slopes and ones for every skill level.

Additionally, in Sun Valley you will find a 26,000-square-foot family center and inexpensive to luxury restaurants. Events include the Arts and Crafts Festival, Sun Valley Wine Auction, the Sun Valley Summer Symphony, Swing ’n’ Dixie Jazz Jamboree, a car auction, a golf tournament, and more.
